Facility space almost doubled – Commitment to production in Germany
On Friday, October 10th 2008, about 270 official guests attended the inauguration of the 4800 square metre (52000 square feet) building addition at Herrmann Ultraschall in Karlsbad-Ittersbach, Southern Germany. Company founder and chairman of the board Walter Herrmann gave a presentation on the almost 50 years of company history, while his wife Ingeborg Herrmann cut the red ribbon and handed over the building officially. The 4-story addition cost 6 million Euros and provides enough space to create 50 new jobs. Herrmann Ultraschall was founded in 1961 and started with the production of ultrasonic cleaning equipment. However, the potential of a new technology – ultrasonic welding of thermoplastic parts – was quickly recognized and the company shifted its focus to the new technology. Today the enterprise belongs to the technology market leaders in Ultrasonic Welding with subsidiaries in Bartlett Illinois, USA and Hangzhou, China. Noteworthy is the high level of in-house vertical production. General Managers Arnold Schneider and Thomas Herrmann thanked the employees for their hard work and dedication. Thomas Herrmann, the son of founder Walter Herrmann, explained that family values, a flat hierarchy and close customer contact are the core values of Herrmann Ultraschall. The family-owned and financially stable company with 220 employees worldwide has become an important employer in the renown and respected TechnologyRegion Karlsruhe.
The employees of Herrmann Ultraschall presented Ingeborg Herrmann with a “Bambi-Award” – a gold plated deer by Else Bach from the Majolika Karlsruhe – recognizing her outstanding commitment to the company as wife of the founder and former chief financial officer.
At the “Open House" on Saturday about 600 guests – family members of employees and friends – had the opportunity to tour the premises. Food and entertainment was provided afterwards and concluded a successful day.
