DIALOG touch responds to the touch of your finger


Industrial PC with PENTIUM processor and Windows-based operating system requires no special knowledge to set up the welding system or to program the welding parameters. All adjustments are made via logically structured menus which can be accessed by a touch of the screen. Multiple weld programs that include all weld parameters are positively controlled using CNC technology. A help menu guides the operator step-by-step through the data entry process.


Six weld modes are available:


  • Depth RPN (programmed Weld Depth)
  • Absolute Distance
  • Time
  • Energy
  • Power (Pmax)
  • ADEPT mode

DIALOG Touch: Complete Weld Programming at a Glance

200 complete weld programs can be stored. Once the program is entered, a repeatable production changeover is completed by a simple touch of the screen. Entire weld programs can be activated also through external control devices like a PLC.

"Visualize to Optimize" for Best Possible Weld Quality

Herrmann Ultrasonics DIALOG touch Graphic User Interface (GUI) provides on screen visualization of the entire welding process. Every weld generates a unique "Fingerprint" consisting of the 3 weld process graphs.


  • Joining Velocity Profile
  • Weld Force Profile
  • Power Consumption Profile

Actual and reference graphs can be displayed simultaneously to allow comparisons and detailed analysis of the weld process.


The most meaningful weld process graph, the joining velocity profile, displays the traveled Weld Depth vs. Weld Time. This graph, immediately accessible on the screen, allows the operator to visualize the actual melting process. This provides a true tool to optimize the different weld parameters to achieve the best possible weld quality. This technology, developed and perfected by Herrmann Ultrasonics, has taken the guesswork out of Ultrasonic Welding.

Flexible and Expandable

The operating system is freely programmable and can be updated. It is compatible with all Herrmann Ultrasonics welding systems. The external interface complies with standard PLC norms, allowing the weld program selection and machine control via PLC.
