To economically convert nonwovens, composite materials and paper, continuous processes are necessary to provide high production speeds, maximum precision, short setup times, minimum wear and low defect rates. Conventional heat sealing and gluing technologies do not meet these requirements.


NON-CONTACT/NON-WEAR Technology

When processing nonwovens and composite materials, conventional ultrasonic technology cannot meet the necessary weld quality and repeatability requirements. Herrmann Ultrasonics provides a patented system tailored to these applications. The basic principle is a rigid mounted converter/booster/horn stack assembly, which can be precisely positioned in reference to an anvil drum. A constant gap between the weld horn and the anvil drum is automatically maintained and can be adjusted to the specific application.
